2004-2005 Deer Lease Brazos Archery Outfitters

Brazos Archery Outfitters, Johnson Ranch, NewCastle, Texas
Dale, Aspen and I headed up to BAO to set up feeders and check out the lease. It looks like its gonna be a fun season fer sure!

The Gate to the Lease

Dale Love from Weatherford Texas and good friend helps break the ice for the season by helping set up feeders and stands.

Setting up the feeders
We found a couple good spots, this one is definitely a ground blind area but it holds a lot of promise, its about 150 yards off the road.
Unwanted guest!
After setting up feeder one we went and looked for feeder 2 location, we were momentarily detoured with a little excitement before we found the location....
Another great location....
This is the second location, it will most likely be a ground blind as well but we saw several tracks and some monster hog tracks.
April 12th visit with Cameron
Cameron and I went up to the lease today so I could get his approval on the lease and his feeder location. We did some limb trimming to keep from pin striping the vehicles while driving the roads. He liked it! We went to his feeder and set up a tripod and topped his feeder off, the wheels were turning in his head. Its looks very promising!
Visiting mine and Cara's stand location....

I showed him my spot and discussed the plans for the ground blind location...I had some decent tracks around my feeder but the timer needed adjusting, got it done.  We saw about 6 turkey over 3 different sighting and called a tom up to about 40 yards but he didn't feel like playing. We just got out of the truck when the tom sounded off and we threw the ICE blind up about 50 yards from the truck...I think he saw the truck and decided to keep his lungs inflated. Also saw some huge hog tracks by my feeder....need to get rid of that pig before deer season! Took lotsa video today of the place too.  We also saw about 12 deer this morning.

Too be continued.....

More to follow soon!
